Our Adventure

We told the kids on Sunday that we were going to on an adventure the next day. We didn't tell them where we were going, just got them up, fed them, changed clothes and we were off. They were so excited for two little kids who had no idea where they were going.

So we drove up to Portland and to the Oregon Zoo. The weather was absolutely awful, it rained so much and was so cold and you know what? We had the best time. The kids did so good with all that rain and the cold, we had a wonderful adventure.
What is this thing in the picture? A walrus? A sea lion? I don't remember exactly but the thing is freakin' huge!

The majority of the pictures of the kids from the zoo are of the backs of their heads. I'd have to be standing behind them and yell, "T! K!" to get them to turn around so I could get a shot, here's one of the few.

There is a mini-farm area with sheep, goats and hay bales so we did some horsey riding. And of course, K could never ride a horse without "puttee" - her blankie.

T was reluctant to look at the camera, he was too busy reading the cow chart to his right.

After a while, the kids were starting to get tired of walking (we had the stroller but it apparently wasn't as much fun if you were in a stroller - I would have sat in the thing if I could fit, I don't get it.) Anyhow, we were soaking wet and tired so we bought tickets to ride the train. I think this was probably the hightlight of T's adventure, he loved it. K laid down on the bench seat and took a little nap for most of it. Clearly she wasn't as enthralled with it as T.

One of the times that K was actually looking around to see what the ride was like.

T waving "Goodbye" to the man on the platform.

Cliff and the kids - er - animals. :0)

The kids didn't know it but we had booked a hotel room for the night. So once we were done at the zoo we just drove to the hotel and told them we were getting a room. T was so excited. He yelled, "Sis! We're getting a room! We staying the night here!" So we pulled out the hide-a-bed for the kids, made popcorn and watched movies for the rest of the evening. This was one of the best adventures ever, looking forward to many more.

Just a couple more pictures

Lately I've really loved black and white photos so I've been trying to convert some of the ones I have to see how they turn out. Something about the simpleness of black and white, I just love it!

K wanted to wear her Tinkerbelle costume today. And of course, if she's dressed up then she must be wearing a hat, I wonder if she'll ever grow out of that. Anyhow, the black and white slightly hides the fact that it's a cammo hat with her Tinkerbelle costume.

I love my son's smile. It's so fun how kids are excited about the most simple things like Dollar Tree candy. This was a small box of Robin's Eggs. I gave him one and he was so excited. That was Saturday night and he has yet to ask me for more. So content...

My kids love their grandparents. Something about my dad, kids just flock to him. When grandpa is around, nobody else exists. My kids are so blessed to still have both sets of grandparents with us so that they can create memories to last a lifetime.

Easter

Easter of 2007 was a great day. There were about 20 of us here at our house for a 1 o'clock lunch and then Carl & Debi and the kids came for the Easter egg hunt. What great family and friends we have. We are so blessed.

The kids had been wanting hula hoops for a while now so that was part of their Easter basket. I'm thinking maybe it's a good idea if the hoops live outside...

T giving us his cheesy grin. Doesn't he look so handsome in a tie?

K and I Easter morning. I signed up to work with the Foxes (2 year olds) at church Easter morning and since we had gone to the service on Saturday night, the kids got to stay in their pj's two hours longer than me.

K thought her hat looked even better on daddy. We're thinking maybe this should become a ham carving tradition with daddy in his silly hat.

K cruisin' for eggs.

Each of the kids (there were 9 kids all together) were allowed to find 11 eggs. T's checking out how many he has so far.

K being silly with daddy and grandpa.

My kids are getting so big

I can't believe how big my kids are getting. The things that come out of their mouths every day...it's fascinating. K sure does love her sunglasses. Lately she wants anything that I have. I pretend to spray her with a little perfume, she wears my shoes. Today I caught her trying to put my deoderant on, like lipstick (?) Thank goodness the cap was still on.

I don't know what it will be like come September when I have to get T up every morning by 7 o'clock, he's so difficult to awake. He's so excited to go to school. He knows it's coming in September and will remind me of that. Although I'm quite certain that he has no idea what September is exactly.

K is in a big girl bed!! We left the crib in there for two nights just to see how it turned out, she did great! At first she thought it was wonderful having a big girl bed and then when it was time for bed, she was ready for the crib. She slapped the headboard of the bed a couple times and said, "Okay, you put this away now. I sleep in crib." But after we got her all tucked in, she was just fine. I can't believe I don't have any babies in cribs anymore...

Mexico

So we went to Mexico last October with some of our dearest friends, Carl & Debi (DebEEEE!) We stayed at an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta and had an incredible time. Here are some pics.

I admit I was a little nervous on the plane. My nerves really kicked into high gear once we got into Mexico though. It was scary. There's all these people trying to get you to go with them, I was very overhwelmed. I felt much better once we were inside the locked gates of our resort though. And I only cried just a little...

Cliff calling home to check on the kids. Little did we know that the calling card we bought would be useless once we were in Mexico. Turns out, this phone call which lasted approximately 7 minutes, cost us about $75.00!!

Debi and I signing the wall at this random little restaurant we came across while shopping. Please excuse the writing on the wall behind Debi - that wasn't us!

Canopy tour!! We had so much fun. We look like we're dying here, there was quite a bit of uphill hiking involved. We're not that out of shape, I swear!

The four of us at one of the many bars.

Puerto Vallarta Sunset

This turned out to be one of our favorite restaurants. The staff was awesome, always seemed eager to get us drunk though. Hmmm....

Biker chicks?

Kisses from the dolphins. What an incredible experience!

This is what they call a meat pizza in Puerto Vallarta. Does hot dog really count as a meat? I don't think so!

Trying again

Okay. I'm trying this again. My friend (thank you Karissa) has been trying to help me figure this thing out. So these are some pictures of Robyn's wedding. Her wedding was actually back in September but I figured that since I didn't have this then, I would put some pictures up now. Like I think I've said before, I'm not sure what the point is since I don't know who will read any of this but anyhow...

All the girl's pretty toes. Can you guess which ones mine are? Yep, the pastiest, whitest, most bruised up legs that are in there. Ain't that a pretty sight? :0)

And here is my sister and I (without make-up) just after getting our hair done. I love having my hair done, I felt like I was on the Makeover Story on TLC.

And this is my beautiful boy. Isn't he precious? Actually, if he heard me say that he was beautiful he would correct me, "I handsome mommy." Gosh I love him.

My blog

So I have a blog. How strange. I don't even really know what to do with this. I've seen other people's blogs and they always look so nice and well put together. So far I can't get the pictures to go where I want them to and actually get this first posting posted. This is my third try. Am I that computer stupid?

So we'll try this. I have a wonderful life. Truly a wonderful life. I have an incredible husband (see picture) and two wonderful kids (if I figure this out then there will be pictures of them too.) We live in Eugene even though we thought we'd never move out of Creswell. I'm blessed with incredible parents, sister and brother-in-law as well as a great family of in-laws.

Okay. I just tried to put in a picture of T and it put it up at the top, I wanted it down further. I'll try one of K. Yeah, that didn't work how I wanted it to either. Hopefully I'll figure this whole thing out one of these days.

I'm going to try and post this and see what happens.
